The perfection level of surfaces directly depends on the viscosity of the respective coating allowing the paint components to settle unifomly after application.
With environmental protection being one of the major driving forces over the last three decades, new binder resins have been developed that allow a reduction of volatile components of a paint without compromising surface perfection.
VISIOMER® methacrylate monomers are versatile building blocks for eco-friendly waterbased coatings.
High-solid monomers like VISIOMER® Terra IBOMA and VISIOMER® c-HMA allow the formulation of resins with inherently lower viscosity. Those high-solid resins show improved levelling properties and simultaneously better hardness and higher scratch resistance. Such resins typically require only half the number of solvents compared to a traditional paint.
VISIOMER® methacrylates are especially suitable for the production of high-solid automotive clearcoat resins.
