VISIOMER® methacrylate monomers support sustainability in a wide range of end applications. VISIOMER® copolymers increase the environmental impact of wastewater treatment. They are also used for the formulation of low VOC coatings and the replacement of hazardous substances in the industry, to name just a few examples.

Low VOC coatings

High-solids monomers such as VISIOMER® Terra IBOMA and c-HMA are suitable for water-based coatings enabling the formulation of resins with a lower viscosity. These high-solids resins generally require only half the solvent compared to conventional coatings.

Oil and gas

Cationic amino-functional methacrylate copolymers can counteract the negative effects of scarce water resources. Long-chain methacrylic acid esters improve flow reliability in pipeline operations and reduce energy consumption. Methacrylamides in copolymers can increase durability under harsh conditions.

Replacement of harmful substances

The replacement of harmful substances is a key issue for resin manufacturers and their suppliers, as various chemicals such as styrene and bisphenol A (BPA) have been publicly criticized. VISIOMER® methacrylate monomers can at least partially replace a number of harmful substances.

Wastewater Treatment

In the treatment of wastewater and industrial effluents, suspended solids need to be removed in order to purify and reuse the water. Removal can be achieved by flocculation and coagulation with cationic polymers of acrylamide and cationic methacrylate monomers, such as VISIOMER® TMAEMC and MAPTAC.
